Nei giorni 21 e 22 settembre 2006 si è svolto a Kuala Lumpur il 21° Congresso Mondiale dell’Istituto Mondiale delle Casse di Risparmio. I lavori sono stati ospitati dalla Bank Simpanan Nasional della Malesia.
La sintesi dei lavori congressuali è rappresentata dalla “Kuala Lumpur Declaration” , in cui si invitano i policy makers di tutti i Paesi ad adottare le misure necessarie affinché la globalizzazione porti benefici a tutti i cittadini, senza alcuna discriminazione, e possa consentire alla maggior parte delle popolazioni e degli imprenditori un equo e facile accesso ai servizi finanziari. La dichiarazione intende, inoltre, favorire lo sviluppo della Corporate Social Responsibility e sostenere con incisività la difesa del pluralismo bancario, grazie al quale sarà possibile realizzare sistemi basati sulla libera concorrenza con conseguenti benefici a favore dei consumatori.
Fra i relatori al congresso è intervenuto il Dr. Antonio Miglio, Presidente della Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio Fossano, che ha illustrato l’attività delle Fondazioni italiane.
